This essay is a virtual walking tour of the Village of Greenwich.
Among the sites represented here are the Chester A. Arthur boyhood
home. This structure was originally located on Whipple Place and
now rests between the High School and the Middle School. The Rough
and Ready Fire Company on Main Street is a small museum that is
open to school tours.
All of the homes on Church Street pictured here provided haven
to fugitive slaves. Some them had connecting tunnels, all long since
filled in.
