The resting place was a location between Greenwich and Salem
that was used by fugitive slaves to hide out for a few days before
continuing their journey.
It was located in sunken meadow off a remote farm road. The meadow
was far enough off of the road that it was hidden from passersby.
The resting place was marked by a group of large gathering trees.
Large stones used for preparing their food and washing their clothes
are still to be seen.
The meadow today has been re-claimed by the forest, and is located
on a private farm.
